CAS Mix it up Challenge - Guest Designer

Hello and happy Monday!  Today is the first day of July, unless you are from my part of the world! If you are joining me from Australia then happy Tuesday the 2nd of July!

I'm happy to say I'm Guest Designer at CAS Mix it up Challenge for the month of July.

This months challenge is Alcohol Lift.
I have had the Ranger Alcohol Lift-Ink for some time and I hadn't really used it till now.  I must say I didn't completely know how to use it but now that I've learnt that you have to rub it with a paper towel afterwards for your image to appear, I think I will use it more often.

I used a few different colours of alcohol ink on some yupo paper with some blending solution.  I grabbed an alcohol swab, bunched it up and dabbed it all over the yupo for some extra effects.
I have a bad habit of not knowing when to stop with these inks so I had to restrain myself!

When it was dry, I stamped the butterfly from Happy Little Stampers with the alcohol lift ink.
It's like magic when you rub away at it!
I used a Decofoil adhesive pen to add some gold foiled dots, mounted it onto a black mat and stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set.

Thanks to the CAS Mix it up team for having me!
I'll be back with another card using the left over alcohol piece for the reminder challenge on the 15th.

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Thrilled to have you as our guest designer this month Michelle and what a stunning card. The blues from the alcohol inks looks amazing and so does the effect from the lift technique with your beautiful butterfly x. Love the addition of the little gold foiled dots too x. Such an eye catching and unique card x.

  3. This is so pretty Michelle!! Love the background and your lifted butterfly. I couldn't get my lift pad to work ... now I know that I need to rub the image afterwards with a paper towel. Thanks for the tip! And thanks for being our Guest Designer at CAS Mix Up this month!
